Yoke — how we handle your data. Private by design, built for two.
When you use Yoke, we store your email address and the things you share in your daily check-in: your mood, energy level, closeness rating, any free-text notes you write, and the context and needs tags you tap. During setup we also ask a few optional demographic questions — your age range, how long you've been together, your relationship status, and whether you have children — and you can choose "Prefer not to say" for any of them.
We use your check-in data to power the app's features for you and your partner. We use the grouped demographic brackets (for example, age range and relationship stage) to understand who uses Yoke, improve the product, and tailor our own communications and marketing. This is done using broad brackets, never your individual check-in content.
Your data is stored securely on our backend with encryption at rest. Access is protected by row-level security so only you (and your linked partner, where you've opted in) can read your entries.
Your check-in data is shared only with the partner you've connected to via an invite code — no one else can see it. You control what's shared in Settings, and you can unlink your partner at any time to immediately revoke access.
We never sell your data, and we never share it with third-party marketers, data brokers, or advertising networks. Any marketing informed by your demographic brackets is our own, done in-house — your data never leaves us for that purpose, and your individual check-in content is never used for it.
We use two privacy-focused services, both hosted in the EU, to understand how Yoke is used and to fix problems: PostHog (product analytics) records events like "a check-in was completed" or "an invite was shared" along with your account identifier and demographic brackets — never the content of your check-ins, moods, closeness ratings, or notes. Sentry (error reporting) receives technical crash reports tied to your account identifier only. Neither is used for advertising.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like us to delete it, just get in touch and we'll remove it promptly.
You can access, export, or delete your data at any time. Export is available right inside Settings, and for deletion or any other request, contact us at the address below.
We use minimal, session-only cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
