The rules of the road, in plain English. Effective 10 July 2026.
These Terms govern your use of the Yoke mobile application and related services. By creating an account or using Yoke, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Yoke. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide about yourself is accurate.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. One account is for one person, and you may link with one partner at a time. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, tell us promptly at hello@yokecouples.app.
Yoke is a relationship wellness tool: it helps you and your partner share how you're feeling, notice patterns, and find small ways to connect.
Yoke is not therapy, counselling, or medical care. It doesn't provide medical, psychological, or clinical advice, and it's not a substitute for professional help. If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, relationship abuse, or any situation where you or someone else may be at risk, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
Don't use Yoke unlawfully or to harm others; don't try to access someone else's account or data; don't interfere with the app's security or infrastructure; and don't copy, resell, or commercially exploit the service. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
Everything you write in Yoke — check-ins, notes, reflections — belongs to you. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store and process that content and show it back to you and, where a feature is designed for it, to your linked partner. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from Settings.
Yoke is currently free. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions, prices and what's included will be shown clearly before you pay; purchases will be processed by the App Store or Google Play; subscriptions will auto-renew unless cancelled in your store account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; and refunds are handled by the relevant app store under its policies.
We work hard to keep Yoke available and improving, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". Features may change, be added, or be removed over time, and we may suspend the service where needed for maintenance, security, or legal reasons.
You can stop using Yoke and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we'll give reasonable notice where practicable so you can export your data.
Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited. Subject to that, Yoke is provided without warranties, and to the maximum extent permitted by law we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, data loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or decisions you or your partner make based on the app's content. Our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before a claim arises.
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we'll update the effective date and notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Yoke after changes take effect means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales — except that if you live elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your home country.
